Week two.

Just getting to Rome was a trip in itself. The best part of traveling is definitely having your connection flight cancelled. The cherry on top though has to be the new airline saying you actually have no booking with them, sorry. Although the layover in Brussels was completely worth it for the Belgian chocolate. I was really too excited to mind all the delays in getting to Rome, but by the time I finally got to our building at 2am, exhaustion replaced enthusiasm and I woke up fifteen hours later to Vyt's voice outside my room.

It's been a hectic first few weeks getting settled and accustomed to a new schedule. Having my luggage arrive a week late did not help the adjustment, but I'd rather have no clothes in Rome than back in Brookland. Rome is amazing, it is incredible being able to say, yeah I pass the Pantheon on my way to class, not a big deal.

Although I really miss the quesadilla stand in the Pryz, I guess I can survive on the pasta and pizza here if I have to. Another great thing about living here so far- a cappuccino here is at most a euro, as opposed to a wallet-eating $5 Starbucks latte. One not so great thing is the weather. Our history class sludged through the streets today in the pouring rain for two and a half hours. But again... I'd rather be soaking wet in Rome than be stuck in the rain back in DC.

We're slowly picking up some italian. I know more ways to say "I don't know how to say" something though, rather than actually saying something. We leave for our first trip this Friday through Northern Italy, starting out in Firenze. But before we leave we have to wrap up our work for our first final jury tomorrow. This is the first project I have actually finished the day before, so Rome is a pretty good change.

Miss ya.
